Making the pressed floral art for this collection

Making the pressed floral art for this collection was a big collaboration. Little hands and fingers helped me plant seeds, pick flowers, and gently remove them from the press. Friends and family let me cut flowers from their beautiful yards and gardens, and advised me on which colours looked best together.

There were also many lessons learned about failures and setbacks - when flowers didn’t grow, petals fell apart and colours dried differently than we expected.

Many special memories went into this collection in the form of precious flowers. A yellow rose from a dance recital and blooms from Nana’s garden picked at a summer visit.

Each piece has been lovingly handcrafted to be just as special in your own home. Pillows and totes launching this Friday!

Although I always love sewing dress up costumes for the kids, we opted for a stay-at-home cozy kind of night instead. Treats for supper, a movie, and a relatively smooth bedtime.
